Another Tech Company HQ Exits California – This Time Orange County to Las Vegas
Over the years, I’ve reported on companies moving their headquarters out of California because of the taxes and regulations imposed by business-hostile Gov. Gavin Newsom and his friends in the legislature, most of whom have never run any company. Their behaviors contribute to unemployment in the state. These political elitists keep their paychecks and benefits, but less privileged workers suffer. While Texas, Tennessee, and Florida are leaders in attracting California company headquarters, Nevada has also been a favorite destination. Examples include moves to Las Vegas by Premier Displays & Exhibits leaving Cypress and Synergy Blue from Palm Desert. Headed for

Another company saying goodbye to California. This time, it’s Trego Dugan Aviation. which provides ground services for Avelo Airlines in Redding. One consequence is that the airline will end its Redding-to-Burbank flights. Jared Culver, general manager, said his company is pulling out of California later this summer. Thus far, no reason has been given. Trego Dugan Aviation is a family-owned and operated aviation business founded over 50 years ago in North Platte, Neb.. which continues to be where it is headquartered. A Recommendation for College Students: Talk to Different People
In my work, I’ve helped corporations and small businesses explain why they move jobs to distant locations and how to make interviews regarding relocations meaningful for employees. But never until now have I witnessed a deep dive into the character of college students being interviewed for a job. Companies are asking new college graduates about their involvement with campus protests to evaluate their character. This makes sense, considering that many students admire ineffectual leadership. Will they adapt to authority figures in your organization? Will they ridicule your “old-fashioned values” considering the discord that they may have come to consider normal

Top Ten Reasons Why Companies Are Leaving California
By Joseph Vranich Thirty years ago California was a friendly place to businesses of all types. Today – according to many credible sources – it’s the worst state. To cite just one study, The Hoover Institution found that businesses are leaving the state twice as fast as years prior. Businesses forced to flee are taking revenue, jobs, and opportunities with them. Consider these findings: #1 – Excessively Adversarial: Chief Executive magazine in its Ranking 2023 Best and Worst States for Business reported that companies continue to flee California because the state’s “anti-business policies have been chasing enterprises elsewhere for many

Retired Relocation Consultant Reopens His Firm to Serve Companies Leaving Business-Hostile States
Anyone who knows me will say that I’m a diligent worker. So it was with some reticence that I decided to retire a year ago. In all candor, I missed my experiences as a Consultant and an Executive Coach and was reminded how helping business people succeed was burned into my DNA. While considering whether to revive my company – The Business Relocation Coach LLC – external events motivated me to do exactly that. I was swayed in particular by the extraordinary number of companies seeking to leave states with difficult business environments – notably New York, California and Illinois.
