Blaze Pizza is moving its HQ from Pasadena to Atlanta

The company is doing so even though it has 96 restaurants in California, while Georgia has only six locations. With such an imbalance, it’s hard to believe the cause is strictly to help “drive our next wave of growth.” California’s high taxes and abusive regulations are likely significant reasons for the relocation. But it’s unwise for the company to say so because the state’s inspectors could suddenly find “problems” at those 96 locations. Once again, the loss is on you, #GavinNewsom, your appointees in the agencies who’ve never run a business, and your radical #Democrat friends in the legislature.  #BlazePizza

Another Fortune 500 Company HQ Leaves California – This Time its Chevron

One of the most prominent American oil companies, Chevron, will relocate the company’s headquarters from San Ramon, Calif., to Houston, Texas, beginning at the end of this year. This was a significant decision considering that in California the company operates crude oil fields, technical facilities, and two refineries and supplies more than 1,800 retail stations. A Wall Street Journal’s editorial asks a question that no Democrat in the state can answer. “Chevron on Friday joined the growing club of California corporations moving to Texas, and the wonder is it took so long. The company has been in the state for

Another Tech Company HQ Exits California – This Time Orange County to Las Vegas

Over the years, I’ve reported on companies moving their headquarters out of California because of the taxes and regulations imposed by business-hostile Gov. Gavin Newsom and his friends in the legislature, most of whom have never run any company. Their behaviors contribute to unemployment in the state. These political elitists keep their paychecks and benefits, but less privileged workers suffer. While Texas, Tennessee, and Florida are leaders in attracting California company headquarters, Nevada has also been a favorite destination. Examples include moves to Las Vegas by Premier Displays & Exhibits leaving Cypress and Synergy Blue from Palm Desert. Headed for

New York’s Awful Business Environment Inspires Big-Time Competition

The Wall Street Journal explains: “New York politicians, watch out. A new stock exchange based in Texas could soon challenge Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange—and the Empire State’s status as America’s financial capital. The TXSE Group on Wednesday announced it has raised $120 million for a new electronic trading platform dubbed the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE). Its investors include BlackRock and Citadel Securities…. Progressives in Albany recently threatened to revive a long-dormant stock transfer tax to pay for their migrant and mass transit messes. Go ahead, make the Texas exchange’s day.” Read the rest in the WSJ editorial:

Poor Quality of Life Factors Causing More Celebrities to Ditch L.A.

Many people are leaving San Francisco because of the city’s high crime, filth including human waste on the streets, and the huge spike in felonies aboard the BART transit system. Less attention has been given to people exiting Los Angeles, but that is changing as high-profile celebrities during the last year headed out of state. The following examples show some high-profile moves to Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana. Former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio fled California and moved to Florida because of awful conditions in Los Angeles. He said on the nationally syndicated “Clay Travis & Buck Sexton” radio show

Retired Relocation Consultant Reopens His Firm to Serve Companies Leaving Business-Hostile States

Anyone who knows me will say that I’m a diligent worker. So it was with some reticence that I decided to retire a year ago. In all candor, I missed my experiences as a Consultant and an Executive Coach and was reminded how helping business people succeed was burned into my DNA. While considering whether to revive my company – The Business Relocation Coach LLC – external events motivated me to do exactly that. I was swayed in particular by the extraordinary number of companies seeking to leave states with difficult business environments – notably New York, California and Illinois.
