Many people are leaving San Francisco because of the city’s high crime, filth including human waste on the streets, and the huge spike in felonies aboard the BART transit system. Less attention has been given to people exiting Los Angeles, but that is changing as high-profile celebrities during the last year headed out of state. The following examples show some high-profile moves to Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana.
Former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio fled California and moved to Florida because of awful conditions in Los Angeles. He said on the nationally syndicated “Clay Travis & Buck Sexton” radio show that “I think, probably since Governor Newsom, it’s really gotten bad, and maybe a little before that. So, maybe four or five years ago…. It’s just… It’s out of control, guys. Listen, I’ve been here for 45, almost 50 years. I’ve seen this place go from an absolute paradise into a cesspool.…”
Also, former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Jason Priestley left Los Angeles for Nashville; Candace Cameron Bure of “Full House” and “Fuller House” fame moved to Austin; and Rapper Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, is opening a new film studio, not in Hollywood but in Shreveport, Louisiana.
